Welded Wire mesh

wire mesh factory

Welded wire mesh is constructed from rigid wires welded at every intersection to provide a very stable and uniform surface. By welding rather than weaving, the material holds its shape well without supports, allowing shearing, rolling, and framing to be done with relative ease.

The wires come in a variety of thicknesses and mesh sizes to accommodate a range of applications. They can be constructed from steel, stainless steel, or galvanized steel.

In reinforced concrete, welded wire fabric (WWF) is also occasionally utilized, particularly for slabs.

How to read welded wire mesh sizes

Mesh diameter:The diameter of the wire used to create the mesh is called the wire diameter (SWG). This can vary in thickness based on the intended use and strength, from very thin wires to thicker ones.

Mesh Size: The dimensions of the spaces or cracks that exist between the mesh’s wires. Usually, this is stated in terms of the millimeters or inches that separate adjacent wires.

Mesh Shape: Square mesh and rectangle mesh are two common shapes for welded wire mesh. Depending on the specifications of the project, the shape may be specified.

Mesh Size: The size of the openings or gaps between the wires in the mesh. This is typically specified in terms of the distance between adjacent wires, either in inches or millimeters.

Material: The wire used to create the mesh, which is often steel. Stainless steel, galvanized steel, and mild steel are typical materials. A number of considerations, including cost, strength, and corrosion resistance, influence the choice of material.

Coating: The kind and thickness of the coating, if applied to the mesh to prevent corrosion, may be specified. PVC, epoxy, and galvanized (zinc) coatings are examples of common coatings.

Tensile Strength: The mesh’s wire’s tensile strength, or its capacity to bear strain without breaking, is what makes the mesh strong.

Roll Size: The width and length of the rolls that contain the welded wire mesh when it is supplied. Depending on the manufacturer and the project’s specifications, roll sizes can change.

Galvanized Wire Mesh

Steel wire that has been coated with a layer of zinc to stop corrosion and rusting is used to make galvanized wire mesh. The zinc coating offers defense against external elements.Because of its strength, adaptability, and rust resistance, galvanized wire mesh is well-suited for a variety of uses.

Welded Wire Mesh Rolls

Wire mesh rolls are  available in various wire gauges, mesh sizes, and roll lengths, these flexible rolls offer adaptability to diverse project requirements.

Concrete Wire Mesh

One kind of reinforcement utilized in concrete construction is concrete wire mesh, sometimes referred to as welded wire mesh or reinforcement mesh. It is made up of several steel wires that are welded together to produce a grid pattern. Depending on the particular use, these grids are usually square or rectangular in shape and available in a range of sizes and gauges.

When reinforcement is required in concrete applications to reduce cracking, increase longevity, and improve structural integrity—particularly when there are thin sections, large loads, or temperature fluctuations—wire mesh is usually utilized.

Gabion Baskets  Size and Type:

Typically, steel wire that has been PVC-coated or galvanized to withstand corrosion is used to make gabion wire mesh.

Depending on the size of the stones or rocks used for filling, the wire mesh panels’ mesh size, or opening size, can vary from 2 inches to 4 inches (50 mm to 100 mm) or greater.

Diameter of Wire:

Typically, gabion mesh panels have wire diameters between 0.12 and 0.36 inches (3 and 9 mm), with larger wires offering more strength and endurance.
